Families and family baches.
There is this tradition, isn’t it, where someone has a bach in the family and then everyone comes together: parents, brothers, sisters, in-laws, partners, cousins, dogs, cats, the more the merrier.
What I love most about those times is that normal life comes to an halt and another rhythm takes over. Bach rhythm. I am not talking about peace and quiet here, because, boy oh boy, it can get pretty noisy with a lot of people in a small space. But bach rhythm has this energy where nothing really matters. Dinner? Baked beans on toast. Kids showers? Maybe tomorrow. Fresh undies? Maybe – not. You pack 25 clothing items and then use only 4. Time flies and it does not at the same time. It is bach time.
When this lovely bunch of people asked me to capture them all together while they are all in the family bach at Robinsons Bay near Akaroa, I felt intrigued. Never been there. So come with me to this adventure…
“Make the most of it.”
and
“You are never alone – just ask.”
These lines are engraved into two signs at the special family bench. And now these two lines are written in my heart. Thank you for reminding me. x
“Steph is brilliant. Wonderful relaxed family group photos. Many thanks Steph for securing the memories.”
